Veterans Day in Malawi

Veterans Day in Malawi

Emily, Ben, and I got to celebrate Veterans Day at the Remembrance Day ceremony outside Cobbe Barracks with the 1st Malawi Rifles Battalion in Zomba! We learned a lot about the contributions and sacrifices of Malawian soldiers. I hope you enjoy the article, and please don't forget to hit that share button!

My First Safari: Timothy (age 7)

My First Safari: Timothy (age 7)

Last Saturday, Jordan, Ben, and I went on safari at the Majete Wildlife Reserve in Chikwawa, Malawi. We brought our friend Idana (who drove for us) and his son Timothy, who is seven years old. It was Timothy's first safari and I gave him my iPhone so he could take pictures. The results were awesome! Take a look!

Mark & Anne's Wedding

Mark & Anne's Wedding

In this week's episode of "Be Anchored", Jordan and I were thrilled to celebrate the marriage of our dear friends Mark and Anne. We took a roadtrip up to Hamilton in upstate New York and had a fabulous time with our South Bend friends celebrating the love of this wonderful couple! Take a look out this amazing outdoor wedding!

WINGS & WINDS

WINGS & WINDS

On our way back from the wedding in Hamilton, NY, we made two super fun stops! First, we had some chicken wings in Buffalo at the Anchor Bar, the original home of the buffalo chicken wing! From there we drove up to Niagara Falls State Park to see the Falls! It was totally worth it to be able to get out of the car, stretch out legs, and see something new on our roadtrip adventure!

Hamilton, NY

This past weekend we had a little adventure! We took a roadtrip to Hamilton in upstate NY to celebrate the wedding of our friends Mark and Anne. We had a fun time wandering the farmers market, having lunch downtown, finding vistas, and we even had the energy to make a few stops on the way back in Buffalo and Niagara Falls!

Popsicles & Pierogies

Popsicles & Pierogies

On Mother's Day, we celebrated being anchored as a new family of three with Jordan's parents. We spent a fun-filled day in Cincinnati at Findlay Market and Washington Park, which was hosting an Asian Food Fest. Banjo tried lots of new things, including fresh pierogies and a homemade popsicle!

St. Joseph, MI

St. Joseph, MI

Whenever we feel like we need to get out of South Bend for a while (which is often), one of our favorite places to spend the day adventuring is St. Jospeh, Michigan. Roughly 40 minutes north of South Bend, St. Jospeh is right on the shore of Lake Michigan. It's a cute little town with a main street full of cafes, boutique shops, antique stores, and art galleries.
